65 rangoon red paint code

Where would I find the paint code for the Rangoon Red paint for 1965. I spoke with paint supplier and there books go back to 1970 only. He asked if I could get him a code which would make mixing the paint easier. Also I plan on single stage, what paint would you all suggest I get?

If you just want an original paint code for the color the Ditzler paint chip page is posted in the 65 Library page under - Paint Codes, 1965-6 Interior & Exterior  - Information and reprints of period paint codes 


What paint brand? 

Most go with what the painter is comfortable with and has had good experience with as well as what is legal and available in your area. May are concerned about how the exterior paint brand will work with the foundation coats - primers, sealers .....
