66-Oil pan plug
« on: August 24, 2019, 12:43:23 AM »
Hi guys, what oil pan plug was used on the 65/66 cobra oil pan? Was it the standard v8 one? And if so was it like this in my pic?
Cheers

Standard bolt. That makers mark on the bolt does not look familiar .

Found one, it’s just got a capital ‘A’ on it, correct?

The typical one is plain no makers mark from what I have seen. The others you mentioned are original on various year sheet metal oil pans however . Most likely different oil pan mfg's used different sources for the bolts.

A picture of an original one might help you in your search.  If anyone has one why not post it!

Good luck,

Not much to see given no markings on most that I have seen . Makes it kind of easy to find a replacement IMO.

Took a quick look through my pictures and could not find a clear picture handy. Believe you would likely modify the one you have by removing just the raised castings on the one you have.  Wil try and look in the garage to see if one of mine might have an original still in it
