Don't recall seeing that date pattern before and don't know where they were made but what you provided does not indicate a Ford stamping plant pattern we see on other sheet metal.

Could be decoded as Feb 31 1966

Thank you for the input ,i did at first think that as a Feb date but as there are only 28 days in that month I ruled that out, I will glass bead it to see if there are more clues , was told it was from a west coast 66 mustang it still has factory blue paint on it,

Correct but we do see evidence of incorrect and mistake date code patterns but of course there woul dbe a whole bunch of them done incorrect to document the mistake

Looks like it could be a julian date code. 31st day of 1966 second shift maybe?

Older data point. The original oil pan for High Performance 260 engine serial number 137 installed into a new Cobra chassis long ago.

We read the stamping as January 1, 1962 second shift FoMoCo® which was a Monday I believe.

Spacing seems to have changed on the ingots they used - apparently leading to the confusion.

kcodecoupe if the pan is believed to be original how does the date on the pan compare to the rest of the engines part decoded as you have currently?

I don't have the engine or engine parts that the pan was on originally , the car was used to make a 66 gt350 clone,    all I have from that car is the front suspension components.
