Turn Signal Stalk
« on: August 12, 2019, 11:03:27 PM »
I bought a supposed NOS turn signal stalk, but I not sure if it's real.

Are there any things to look for? I've seen two versions in the shop -- one without a black painted ring on the large end and one which is just chrome and no paint.

The stalk is for a non-tilt column.

I've not included a year, since the details may well work their way into 68.

Found two in my pictures so far that appear to have the black detail on the knob. Lets see what others have to offer

Hello Bossbill,

In attachment picture of my 67 turn signal stalk (also non tilt).
It has a black painted 'ring' in the middle of the surface and the outerside is at the end 'corded'
This evening I can get you a better sight/detail of it, but this picture is what I have for the moment...
Kind regards,

Jeroen

I'm turning into a stalker. Double entendre !

Thanks for the pic, Jeroen.

My  restorer friend noted that his 67 restomod had a reproduction in it.
It is on the left and on the top in the attached pics. Mine is the other one.

The reproduction has a smaller tulip head and is a bit shorter. And, no paint!

Careful if you go to NYC.

I was in a local Mustang shop about an hour ago, saw several Scott Drake reproductions, no paint. The "proprietor" of the shop said measure the length of the lever (Ford's name).

The new one I bought is 7 15/16". The tulip head is a bit larger than 5/8".

As this photo shows, the lever and the headlight knob have identical patterns.

"Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world."
Or, the turn signal mechanism.
