Package tray material for 69 mach 1
« on: June 26, 2019, 10:38:08 PM »
My package tray is warped and not sure if it is original. It looks like cardboard/pressboard material the kind used for school notebook.  I purchased a replacement from NPD and you can see the link below. Question is, what is the original material of package tray and how does the middle front part get held down? I only have the trim pieces that hold it down in the corners. A picture would be great. thanks

The panel was a Masonite product (wood shavings and saw dust with a bonding agent and pressure to for the sheet) shaped for the application

Texture of the panel

Between it and the package tray was a thin sheet of insulation - brown in color with a pressed waffle like pattern. Panel continues all the way up the back and is visible from the trunk side

Further forward

Forward edge of the panel is held down by a trim strip that runs just behind the rear seat upper section as visible in the picture below  - the white stripe in the picture which has a end cap of sorts one at each end

does anyone sell that trim strip?  I have something that runs along the same way but is a metal frame and held down with screws. I guess i can take the screws off and look but appeared to be attached to the whole package tray frame

does anyone sell that trim strip?  .........

Need to find someone that has parted out or has converted a non- fold down car to a fold down one and has these parts left over. As mentioned you will likely need the end trim pieces also

I have the end trim pieces but not that long trim strip that would normally hold most of the front side down

I invite you to put a wanted ad in that section of the site - might get more looks there - and everywhere you can. Someone has one sitting on a shelve somewhere

All set after installing reproduction factory package tray and finding an original trim piece
