Topic: Steering Wheel Housing Flange & Bearing

I am trying to install a new steering shaft bearing in the Steering shaft housing/steering wheel flange.  It appear to be the same size and shape as the original, except the OD is a few thousandths large.  I assume the bearing is to sit all the way down in the flange, but then it seems to sit too high for the TS switch to fit flat.  Can someone please confirm if switch should sit flat on top of the housing?  Picture is of the parts as I believe they assemble.

The bearing should fit. If you have the old one, compare their dimensions.

The white bushing is not used on 65-67 with fixed column.  The metal one fits down in the collar, flipped over from what it is in the picture. 

If that's all the parts you have, you're missing the metal sleeve that centers the collar on the shaft that goes in before the spring.

The white plastic bushing replaces the metal sleeve, at least in theory. I have a Ford "four pack" of B1AZ-3518-A plastic bushings (three left). They are dated on a work order as made in 1989. I prefer the metal type.

Thanks to all for your help.  Yes I do have the spring, just not in photo.  I realized I had the bearing upside down.  Don't know why i did not figure that out earlier.  All good for this part now. Onto the next adventure!

I too have some questions on this in the upcoming following days.. I have two columns, and I need to know that all the parts are there and correct..
