Simply want to know if 69 and 70 front disk brake proportioning valves are exactly the same and can be used on either regardless if you don't care about date codes etc.

The 69 and 70 are different. They are plumbed differently and the bracket is different  . The distribution block is different and so is the proportiong valve They technically work the same but is not a direct bolt in.

It is a 69. They even repro the 69. It is not worth the time and money to make the 69 one work in a 70 IMO if that is what you are contemplating.

Thanks.  I studied the pics and for the life of me cannot see the difference.  I have one on my 70 Mach 1 so I can use it to see what I need for the 70 B2.  I had a chance to buy a 69 so I asked the question to ensure I did not buy something that would not work.

My mistake for doing this so late. Originally showed the first picture twice first as a 69 and then as a 70 and I'm certain this confused things for you. Fixed it and you can see that the blocks are mounted differently (orientation) so the brackets are different and the 69 has a separate proporsioning value below and to the right where the 70 does not. Connections for the brake lines for 69 have three on the top and one on the bottom as well as the one on the end. While 70 has two on each side with the one at the end

Bob,. At least we both weren't following Randy sizemore.  Besides there was really only one good part, a front license plate bracket.  You can get me back at mid America next month.

Bob, I don't know if it's still the case, but there was a reproduction of the 1970 combination valve available from CJ Pony Parts a few years ago. I bought one to check it out when they first became available.

Out of curiosity I just now checked the CJ Pony Parts site and a direct bolt 70 unit does not show up.
