68 390 oil sender
« on: May 04, 2019, 11:20:08 AM »
I'm working a 1968 S-Code.  It has the tach and somewhere in the vehicle's history, someone jury-rigged an oil pressure gauge in the clock slot on the instrument cluster.  Trying to unravel it all but the car should only have the oil pressure light with a clock in the cluster right?  Everything I'm reading is pointing to that with the C7AZ-9278-A sending unit but I wanted to verify.

C7AZ-9278-A looks right to me for "before 4/10/67", after which would be C8AZ-9278-A, according to the attached files from the MPCs.  Note that the date is representative so if you are close to that you need to do some more research.

Thanks John!  When I looked at the MPC initially, I though it was pointing me to the C6SZ-9278-B which was throwing me off.  Now that I see how you read the table, it makes more sense.  Bottom line is I need the light sending unit and I need to find a clock to swap out the oil pressure gauge. One more mystery solved with getting this thing put back together right.  Thanks again for the help!
