1968 GT 390 (San Jose) Holes drilled in upper vent area

I just want to confirm that these holes were not drilled at the factory and added after the fact by a PO. You can see the small holes drilled in the lower corners. Also wondering if anyone has a photo showing how the vent area would look as per factory paint procedures. This car has been painted and I don't know if they followed the correct process or took liberties of their own. Also curious if the finish under the vents should have ben red oxide primer like the rest of the car or other.

They look correct to me.

Thanks John are you referring to the holes as well as the paint?

I guess I could have read more closely - the holes in the corner are NOT correct.  Sorry about that.  As far as paint goes I would expect that the gray primer, applied over the red oxide, would be largely covered with body color.  There is some question as to the black out references on the assembly manual, but if I recall original examples of this have been elusive.  I'm sure that others will chime in if needed.

I believe the holes were drilled to allow water, rain or car washing, to drain. Owners of that car's era always do "things" to their cars to protect them.
