Help indentifying this radiator in my 65 K Code
« on: April 17, 2019, 05:22:27 PM »
This radiator is in my early feb 65 San Jose K Code project.
The car was recently removed from a 30 year plus slumber and a lot of items had been changed out by a previous owner.
Wondering if this might be the original. Any help appreciated.
Side bracket is marked DEP C4ZE 8005 Y 1 4JB

I thought San Jose cars had the debossed stamping on the tank. Dearborn has the straps stamped. Correct me if I am wrong

It's a good possibility this is not original to the car as lots of things are wrong on the car. Just trying to figure it out.

The side straps ,top tank and engineering number stamped on the side straps indicate the radiator came from a plant back east and not SJ. A lot of highly visible ques.

Any thoughts on what this radiator is OE for?

It's for a Dearborn built, 1965 Mustang, 289, M/T, no A/C, and "possibly" for a 64 (the "Y1").

Or a Metuchen. 4JB date code is Sept 1964 which would put it in the ‘65 model year probably October-November

Metuchen didn’t start production until February of 65. So doubtful it would belong to a metuchen car.
