For fine, small parts that require great accuracy I use a small Benzomatic.
For larger stuff I use my trusty plumbing torch head from the same manufacturer. So much easier to move around a small torch head on a flexible hose than mess with the all in one versions. Plus, those torch heads on the can don't always turn off, do they?
That's what I used in this example. And it absolutely turns off.
If you really need heat, an oxy/acy torch is another remedy. Would not recommend on aluminum.
