suspension ID question
« on: March 10, 2019, 02:32:38 PM »
Working on a 70 B302 and seem to have a problem as using Moog outer tie rod part number  es387R,   NOS center link, original # 3107& 3108 spindles and it seems that I need to have 3 spacers ( about 3/16") on the outer tie rods to make sure they're tight.

So my question is there another tie rod ends that will work or correct or ???

Are you saying that the taper is too loose in the spindle ?   sounds odd as the ES387R outer tie rod end should be the larger tapered stud. How do they fit in the center link (all the tapered holes should be the same size).  See how the outer tie rod end fits the holes in the center link for the inner ends. If they seem right someone may have reamed out the holes in your spindle for something larger (that would suck). If they are loose there also, you probably have 69 tie rod ends that were mis packaged.

Maybe post some pictures ?
