Goodyear Speedway 350s
« on: March 10, 2019, 12:16:39 PM »
Buddy on the left coast is inspecing a '67 GT350 for me and could not find a DOT or date code on the Goodyear Speedway 350 bias ply tires.

Only think he could find, other than the size is pictured.

Is it possibly that these are pre-71 tires ?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Is there a 'Made In..' designation on the back?

First, welcome to the forum.
I have several pre-71 tires, one is a US Royal Dual Red Line that is still my spare on my 66 GT Fastback. It has ratings and other stamped info real close to the bead, on both sides of the wheel. Go back and take a closer look at "the fine print" near the bead.

OK... thanks for responding.

Car should be here in a few days and I will look with my own eyes.

Do the pictured numbers mean anything ?

Yes, the numbers in that location mean that the tire is a later repro tire. Vintage originals do not have the numbers in that location.

Sure enough... the date code and DOT numbers were on the inside of the tires only.

I will be removing these from my GT-350 and replacing with radials so I can drive without feeling like I am back on the road in Edmonton in the middle of January.  These will be posted on the for sale section of the forum.

Thanks to all that heped.....
