I received the lines from Classic Tube yesterday and was pleased to see the finish they are now using is very close to the Terne steel. They will have my business from now on. A good product that represents the original and is all made in the USA.

Thanks for reporting back

That is the same observation for the sample I was sent from Classic Tube. I am glad to hear of others up to date confirmation. I was very worried that the blue gray looking aluminized tube was all that was available. It has been a bad experience seeing the off color tubes on so many restored cars recently.

I agree, now I am second-guessing what I bought last year  :o

If ANYONE has all three examples being discussed so far, I would like to see them. I was hoping to see a side-by-side comparison of the 3-tubing types being discussed.
*original Terne
*SAE J 526 alternative
*Aluminized Version

Sorry for old thread revival, but I happened to have all three brands in my garage so thought I would add a picture.

Fine Lines on left, Classic Tube in middle, Right Stuff on right.  Two pics are under slightly different light sources.

I have to say, I have really enjoyed working with Fine Lines.  Incredibly responsive and helpful.  Classic Tube was nice the one time I called them, but don't have as much experience with them.  I'm guessing the Classic Tube will be closest to original?

I would say none of the above based on the picture. Sometimes light and other factors change shade/appearance of a item in a picture reproduced on a monitor compared to holding the same item in your hand . I suspect that the items look different in real life then they do in the picture taken. There are of course more sophisticated equipment to take better pictures.
