1965/66 Horn Ring for Woodgrain wheel
« on: February 20, 2019, 01:14:03 PM »
Two questions:

1. Who makes the best horn ring?

2. Does anyone have a good resource for reassembly and troubleshooting?

As far as I know, there's only one manufacturer of reproduction deluxe horn rings.  Personally, I would prefer original or NOS, get the C5ZA version for 65-66.

Google search for 'deluxe mustang wheel schematic' will help with assembly.  The only trick is not over-tightening the spring screws.  I've had to bend contact tabs to help dial in the horn ring to work at all 3 contacts on the wheel.

It's not "who makes" but "who sells" the best horn ring. The "best" answer is who backs the products they sell. I prefer National Part Depot. Be advised that you "buy" the entire wood grain steering wheel, although repair kits - screws and springs - exist.
The MPC does have an expanded view, as to step by step assembly - it's try and error. It took me a couple of each.
