Hi , I am trying to figure the build date of my car, not sure of all this info on this tag , I am no sure if this is buck tag or door tag?

That's the buck tag. No date information there.

The door sticker on a '70 would have the SCHEDULED build date if you still have that. To find out the ACTUAL build date you need to get the Marti Report. Scheduled and actual dates are rarely the same. Normally within a week of each other, but there have been some known cases where it was off by substantially more than that.

Only way your going to know for sure what day your car was completed on is by getting the Ford information which in most cases means going through Kevin Marti. He can also confirm how the car was built (colors, options and so on). Don't have to get the most expensive report and display items but many people do

The 1970 Vehicle Certification Label (door sticker/tag) does not have a scheduled build date on it.  The only date on a 1970 VCL is the actual month and year (no day) that it was built.

Have you confirmed this (just asking since I haven't) to see if the date on the label is the real production month or if it's like the door tags of the earlier years where it lists the projected build date?

Would take a while cross referencing a bunch of marti reports and door labels but could be done - just access and time

I have not cross referenced multiple VCL's, but my 11/19/69 scheduled date Cougar that was actually built 12/01/70 has the manufactuered date of 12/69 on it. 

Also the language on the label states,
12/69 This vehicle conforms to all applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards in effect on date of manufacture shown above.

I have been wrong before but that is what I currently believe based on the small sample size that I have.

Thanks for the replies, not sure if I still have the door tag somewhere since I have replaced the doors many years ago. I might look into the Marti report at sometime , just not at the top of the list right now .

I spoke with Kevin last summer, and he had just renewed his agreement with Ford. Their lawyers are always thinking up new ways they could be able to cancel this contract. If you have any reason to believe that you would want this, better spend the $25 now before you wake up and find out you can't get one ever again. It's a small price for something that adds a lot of value to your car.

I have two 70 mach 1s whose build and scheduled months are different. The VCL reflects the build month on both. I believe this was required by law for 1970 and later.
