66 AM/FM installation and rear bracket
« on: February 16, 2019, 06:43:40 PM »
Have a friend with a question that I couldn't help with.

He's trying to install an AM/FM in his car and is trying to figure out the rear/upper support bracket. Normally on an AM the bracket goes to the drivers side and uses a premade hole in the top of the dash under the dash pad. The bracket he has and has been told came from an AM/FM appears to only work facing to the passenger side since two screws on top of the radio appear to get in the way of it angling towards the drivers side. Picture below shows the top of the radio with the grill and such out of the way. The bracket is placed on top of the dash just so it will sit in place for the picture and we know it goes under the lip of the speaker opening.

Sure they have tried fitting it between the two screws and trying to get it lined up with the standard mounting hole.

Any ideas, experience or help?  Thanks

Try this -

If anything, it may tell you what brackets are wrong so those can be eliminated.
You should use the search feature - it's pretty good.  ;)
