67 GT 390 heater elbow

What style intake manifold heater hose elbow did a June 67 390 car use?  How about water pump nipple? Was intake elbow painted? Thanks in advance

Need to go look at another complete unrestored 67 380 San Jose car this week if it stops raining and get some pictures. Hopefully its still at the shop.

This thread has some clearer pictures of the intake fitting. It appears the intake fitting was in place before paint.

The green NJ example has had the water pump fitting replaced likely due to rusting out. The one in the first (67 SJ) example with the odd fitting then the add on straight section is the original and discussed later in the green NJ examples thread.

Close up. Obvious to see someone in the past was in the area of the fitting with a rattle can so we don't know if the fitting was painted with the engine by using this one example

 Thanks. Judging from all the blue paint and other areas it doesn’t belong I’m gonna say the painting of the nipple is suspect

Without a doubt.

Looking at everything that is the correct/original fitting and it was added after (for some unknown reason) after the engine was painted. Haven't found any signs of them using a slip over mask like other applciations or parts

It is two piece. a angle fitting and a straight fitting. Once mounted it sticks straight up. It was used through very early 68 production before changing to only the one piece fitting that when mounted points at a angle.Mansfield Mustang sells them .I don't know about the others.Regardless of which style they were added after the engine was painted so no paint on them.

Picture of the item Bob is referring to in his post above. Same as posted  (now that these are merged) above

Plenty of evidence that it, along with other parts in the picture, got a coat of paint during a rattle can refreshing by a PO



Angle of the available picture does not show the angle fitting very well.  Radiator and such got in the way

Going to merge this thread and another to keep things together and improve/update the older one
