65-66 End Link Spacer Markings
« on: January 04, 2019, 01:18:48 AM »
I've noticed three different markings on the spacer, or sleeve, used in 65-66 NOS C0DZ-5A486-B strut rod end link kits. 1st version has no markings, 2nd has an 'Fm' script stamped parallel to the bolt axis, and the 3rd has an 'Fm' script perpendicular to the bolt axis.

Are any of these considered more assembly line correct or does it matter?

Thanks,
Dave

This is what the FM marking looks like. Out of 16 spacers I have, only two were marked. I can't verify the year or plant the two came from, nor the years or plants of the other 14. I find it difficult to believe that the 14 unmarked spacers were all replacements and unmarked. If the 14 were originals, then there was a mix of spacer suppliers, or the marking requirement "was" then "wasn't" or "was". In any case, spacers marked FM are a premium. AMKs spacers apparently have no marking.

Thanks for the replies!

Jim, I have one NOS kit where the Fm is like your photo, and one where the Fm is rotated 90 degrees, oriented with the bolt axis.

Thanks,
Dave
