2nd Rotation number on 64.5 axle housing
« on: December 03, 2018, 08:02:19 PM »
I have not yet found a 64.5 nine inch (or 8 inch) axle housing from Dearborn that has the rotation number on it.  Has anyone ever seen it on a 64.5 K code?

TIA

I've not seen nor do I have any evidence of a rotation number being applied to the rearend housing on an early K code built at Dearborn

Where would it be located and what would it look like?  I can check mine.

Well, since we've not yet documented a car of this period with it, not sure exactly where or if it was ever done.  At other plants and later in production there is sometimes a 3 digit number on the axle housing, somewhere.  Sometimes on the left  tube.

Depending on what year and plant your referring to that number is the ID number. Seen it on restored cars of those time periods
