Topic: Fold down seat pictures...

Could anyone help out with pictures of the side latch area without the chrome trim on and a picture of the chrome trim for the front of the fold down seat on a 1967 vehicle?
I looked at Coral's site, but the pictures are of such poor resolution that I can't see what I am looking at. I found the issue with my fold down, I just need to look at why.
It's with the front piece at the latch area. It's wider than the rear portion. I am starting to wonder if I some how have mixed seat components or the trim from the repo 1967 trim is incorrect.

I shot Coral Snake a PM as well. I don't know if the trim I have is right. I have had an issue with clearance and can't fold the seat down. I noted when I was working on alignment that the front part of the fold down is wider at the hinge that the other side at the hinge by about a 1/4" . I am suspect that the trim supplied as '67 with the kit is wrong, the front part of the foldown is an earlier or later. The trim they sent me that wasn't supplied in the kit for '67 is inset at the strikers, the fold down isn't.

Here are the pictures of what I have. There are no recesses in the fold down sides for the striker recesses stamped in the trim. It makes the curved forward section wider than the part on the plate where the hinge attaches by about 1/4". The issue that has plauged me all along. Here are the pictures from my seat. Do they look correct for 1967?

That WEB site might be gone if I remember correctly. I looked over an NPD and found there are two types, each with differences for the years.

Both the items I just posted state "Latch area on trim is recessed and not flat".

I helped a friend restore a 67 San Jose "A" code Fastback about 15 years ago and included a conversion from fixed real seat to fold down. We had no problems.

Was a great site that took allot of effort. Believe we've learned a few things since then and there are a couple of typos but what site would not after all these years.

Took a look at the pictures I have and non focus just on the latch striker area of the fold down but the ones that do provide some details on San Jose 67 all had the reinforcing plate and no recess (matches Sam's site) except for a few "restored"cars

According to the Fold Down site the 67 trim piece surrounding the latch is not reproduced + must use rechromed original.   Did you save your originals?

It is reproduced now. However, the kits are supplied with the 65-6 and you have call them and have them ship it to you. And no, the trim was very rough and I didn't have the forethought years ago when it was taken off to keep it. It was pitted.

Jim, that is what I need. I have 69-70  trim supplied. Makes sense now. Or I could notch metal for clearance.

Thank you, Bill. Answers my question. Now I am going to have to locate the correct trim. I believe they are reproducing it now for the 67. I have trim for late 68-70.
