« on: September 24, 2018, 09:11:54 PM »
Can't  seem to find  a definite answer in other threads,is the color  of the air breather  the same  as the engine  block?

"Air breather"

Not sure if your asking about

1- Oil breather cap - driver side valve cover?  Its chrome plated

2- Air cleaner? - Painted engine color or very close to with a chrome lid or top

3- Thermactor (smog) air filter canister? Semi-gloss black as a unit along with the wing nut

4- PCV hose or valve?  Depends on what part

Or another part

Did the picture thread of the unrestored S code GTA San Jose built fastback in the Unrestored Picture Thread not have a picture that helped? Looks like it was likely built within a few weeks of your car ;)

No problem just wanted to clarify and make sure that you get the best answer. And yes the air cleaner had been repainted (though it was painted a version of engine blue) at some point.  Hopefully you have the originally air cleaner as that can be a long and confusing discussion since there are many versions depending on the car's details and allot of ones that are wrong for Mustangs out there ;)
