1964.5 Door Light Plate

The inner door jamb has a plate which appears to be for the interior light button. See pics. I do not think that is correct. I suspect it was added by someone who was unable to align the door so the light switch was operational.

early cars had just such a plate. the material is similar to the plate on the seat back stops. not sure of the date the plates were dropped.

+1   As a note  - they were added after the body was painted ;)

Same piece used on the front seats where the adjusting bolt head rests.

You will also note that the pillar when the door jamb switch mounts is flat as opposed to raised. That's why the piece on the door was needed. Later cars received the raised area at the switch hole.
