70 Mach1 Dash Courtesy Light Position
« on: September 16, 2018, 06:42:04 AM »
Has any one with a 70 Mach1 with A/C got some picture of where the factory 70 dash courtesy light is mounted on the dash? Mainly on the passengers side my one has a hole for one but the light hits the heater box.
I am thinking it should be closer to the outside glove box door hinge bolts.
The drivers side one is right I think just above the brake release lever.

I may be wrong, but I think your courtesy lamp in the first picture is upside down from what it should be.

Nope your correct. But his way will help out if your working on the back side of the dash assembly though bulbs do get might hot :)

Not sure if the location changes for AC cars but will continue to look for a picture. Not allot or people taking pictures of this detail

Non-AC example

Easily fixed ;D. It was hitting the brake release lever but I may just need to bend the bracket to clear it.

As for the passenger light I don't seem to have a hole in that spot but thats really the only place it fits and clears the heater box. I'd say some one replace that part of the dash for some reason.

If they did it would have been from another car and (if it were so) that car would have had a hole there also unless AC cars are different or a 69 is not the same (underdash lights mounted in a different location

The hole is in the glove box door hinge the dash just has a big hole in that spot it must of had a hinge replaced.
