need help on how to remove the harness from the steering column on my 69 mustang

The column can be a little tricky, first remove the 3 screws that attach the turn signal switch and lay it aside dangling from the column, then you have to remove the C clip from the column shaft with a snap ring pliers. There are 2  nuts that attach the upper to the lower bowl and some screws as well. The removal is easy at this point. When the two bowls are separated you can remove the switch and harness from the column. This would be a good time to refinish the upper and lower bowls. The installation is the tricky part as you have to line up the bowls in the exact location and then install the two nuts to the threads that sit in the lower bowl. This is kind of hard to describe but you will see what I mean when you get into it. It takes a little time but it's not too bad. Another good source to see a breakdown of the column is in the FORD service manual.
