1969 FMX Transmission Finishes Related
« on: August 21, 2018, 05:51:47 PM »
This was asked and answered over on another site and since I've already uploaded the picture to my gallery here figured I would post it and the text here for our member's benefit now and in the future

Question was asked - What is the original finish of a GT350 automatic transmission mount bracket? Same would apply to 69 Mustangs.

"Working on the FMX, is the inspection cover Natural or painted Black?"

Natural - bare - new looking steel

This one is showing its age a bit  ::)

Good place to add this detail. Posted it elsewhere showing the dipstick/filler tube ID color

Not the best final look for the aluminum in the bottom right picture of the "restored" example. Too IMHO monotone

Color I've used for the tube is Krylon Gloss Blue Ocean Breeze -24504 01512

A couple of other marks found from another thread

- Driver's Side of Tailshaft Housing

- Passenger Side of Tailshaft Housing
