What Steering Wheel was OEM in my 69 351 GT mustang ??
« on: August 06, 2018, 06:32:42 PM »
I have a 69 351w GT Equipment Group and the Visibility Group with Standard Interior on the Marty report. My question what type of Steering Wheel did this originally come with? One with the horn in the center pad, or one with a center pad with horn ring or something different ?
Any help appreciated

The one with the pad and horn ring as shown here:

They don't mention that a 70 wheel has round holes all around the perimeter of the hub to accommodate the locking column pin.
You could put the nicer looking 70 wheel on your 69, but not the other way round if the locking wheel  function was to be retained for a 70.

The standard steering wheel for a 69 with standard interior would look like the following. Wheel and pad color depended on interior color.

Most common - Black

Green

Red

Blue

Centers originally had a red detail as shown below. Its faded or gone on old original wheels often but easy to reproduce

The deluxe wheel may have been an option but don't have an order form handy
