I have long wondered why on earth there has always been a reproduction of the D5 three rivet service part when 99% of the folks restoring these cars want the four rivet C7ZZ version?
4 rivet uppers have been reproduced for a fair number of years. Not perfect (reproduction often aren't) but they can be improved and the maker vacillated for years between a number of years between cleared, painted, bare and so on but if you wanted you could normally get them bare steel if you knew who to ask.
Not sure what they are currently selling but here are a few pictures of those arms from a while back. They are only about 10 minutes from me and I've found them, in the past, easy to work with so if I want just the bare arms I can get those. If I want them to rivet the ball joints in place with a certain (they have about 2 dozen waffle patterns) they will do that for me
Of course the zert fitting would not be left on the final part installed
Fully assembled A arm believe this is an original. There repo ball joints had some non-factory markings at one time of course this would not matter if you were purchasing just the A arms and finishing them yourself
Bare arms as purchased.
I liked the fresh stretch/forming marks in or on the metal since these often get lost when cleaning originals.
Punch out in the center of the arm is something that can be addressed - sharper that original edges on one side in these examples. Not sure what current ones have.
