There is more then one shade /sheen etc, of black in the SEM product line. Also as already mentioned the year is important as only 65 /66 were a semi gloss black . 67 up had a charcoal metallic designation instead of semi gloss black.

Might as well get in the practice of including with every question or request what year, plant and approx (or exact) build date the car had. If not you will be asked this over and over again.  Many just include it in their signature. You can do this by clicking on the top tool bar on the site Profile then click on Forum Profile and include it in the appropriate box.

We have found through the years that this keeps the thread and answers focused on your needs and reduces all the other information that will either confuse, distract  or just clutter the discussion.

So since you provided that your working on a 70 you'll be working with Dark Charcoal Metallic even though Ford described it a black 

You will get use to using the search feature since so many subjects have been covered already so check there first. We don't mind updating for recent knowledge but its a great place to start and may save you time.

If you look in the Library you might find the article - - Paint Codes, 1970 Interior & Exterior helpful as to which panels are which finishes

And finally in applying the paint  depending on supplier it can often be very thin  - minimal amount of color in a clear carrier- the reason so many of us use a very thin base coat of black on the part (after stripping it completely) then top coating it with two thin somewhat dry coats of the Charcoal Metallic for a little gray coloration and some metallic. Too much and the grain will be gone, the finish will be smooth and can even be glossy.
