Has anyone used Auto City Classic for date coded glass?

Here is Auto City classic link
https://www.autocityclassic.com/1969-1970-mustang-fastback/1969-ford-mustang-2-door-hardtop-fastback-complete-glass-package-jan-oct-69fbpkg/

ECS and Auto City are the only ones that I could find now that does date coding, others have stopped.

There seems to still be many questions on inside or outside etch, size of logo, etc. And that the standard response seems to be check with ECS.

So is Marcus collecting original glass data points from people who still have original glass? Do I send data samples to ECS?

Just trying to send original data samples somewhere rather than having this data sit on my desk.

I'd guess most cars have their original side and rear glass.  Windshields are what usually gets replaced.

For any of these, it's not too difficult to narrow down original placement based on cars close in production from the same assembly plants.

A one-size-fits-all approach would be wrong though as we see variances in placement between production years and sometimes within production years.

Does the ECS front and side glass have that weird polarized banding look?

If you look across the show field some windshields have this odd zinc dichromate/rainbow look to them that original glass does not have.

Also, is this an issue with side glass too?

It seems a bit worse on the reproduction glass but is also common on original glass too.

I haven't seen them all but all that I have gotten and many that I have seen and confirmed with owners have had the bands. Yes side glass too. If you look at them through polarized sun glass's it can stand out even more. Although some Original glass can have the bands it is way less likely from what I have seen .

After reading many posts about windshield glass, I assumed that Carlite glass was not available.  I have seen an NOS one now and then posted on ebay.  During a recent FB discussion, I was informed Carlite was available.  I checked myself with a local glass shop and new 64-70 Carlite windshields can be hard in like 2-7 days.  Yes they are not date coded to the car production date and they will have the look of a modern windshield.  Just wanted to put that out there as it may fit Concours criteria for some.

The current replacement Carlite glass will likely have a black Carlite block logo and made in Mexico markings.  If one could buff that off and etch a correct Carlite logo with proper date code, might be something to consider.  If the glass is the same thickness as all the other repro glass, probably not worth the trouble.

The Library article on 65 Glass goes to a dead link. My windshield has been replaced, I'm looking for information on what the date code and logo would have looked like and their location.

You may be able to apply the information in the thread below but guess you did a search, found & read it and it didn't help

And of course you have the article posted and written by Marcus

I bought from ECS and it came with a metal pad embedded in the windshield! Not the button but a pad that the button attaches to. Totally NOT correct. I paid $450 for the glass and my date code etched into the glass and $300 shipping for a windshield that is not correct. Charlie, the glass guy at ECS, is having a hard time finding glass without the pad. I told him I would not have bought the glass if I knew about the pad. Since they are Mopar guys I asked him if any Mopar glass came with that pad and he said no and I said neither did Ford or Mercury. So be sure to ask about the metal base pad.
