Topic: Water Bag 1965/66 ... original ??

Hi,

I get for low budget an old water bag out of an 66 Mustang ... now I am searching for informations to detect a original one from an repro one .... is anybody able to give me informations


I found no numbers or such stuff ... even there are no animals inside they look like as 1966

what is a 'water back'.....never heard of anything using that term....

The bag looks like it's for the 65 model as it has a screw on cap not
the flip type the 66's have. Original or reproduction, the experts have
to answer.

Well, can't really tell from the picture.  Would have to hold up a new repro next to it to see any differences.

I may be wrong, but I thought I remember a thread that it was shown that there was a diffrence in the back canvas part of the bag. Maby the pattern or grain or something that made it where one could tell.

I can not remember if it was on VMF or Hipo. It was a few years ago though.

The material on the back of an original was an off-white color instead of bright white.  There are some differences in the hook areas and necks.  I remember noticing differences, but don't remember the specifics.
