66 Hertz Shackles
« on: June 18, 2018, 02:46:32 PM »
Can anyone confirm that 66 Hertz cars came with the offset shackle on the LH side?  Both NPD and VA Mustang sell this and it is ½ inch rod and the matching one for the RH side.  The standard 65-72 is 9/16 inch rod.  Just want to confirm before I place an order…

66 Hertz used the same rear shackle brackets as 66 Mustangs equipped from the plant with dual exhaust.

Thanks Jeff.  Also just confirmed that the LH side on my dad's is offset.  He is starting the process of restoring the rear end as he has a pinion seal leak.  Will be posting pics of his progress in the members section.

The size for 66 thru 73 shackle bushings is 1/2 inch. Earlier Mustangs used a 9/16 inch dia bushing.
