They did put a 1/4" square foam at the bottom of the glass. The trim is tightened down to the cowl first. I like to use an old 5/8 water hose or the like and slip about a four inch hose over the two wiper blade studs, slip the hoses into the cowl wiper holes and guide it down until the cowl has passed over the two mounts, if you don't do this you can easily chip the paint here, learned this the hard way years ago. It is a tight fit to slip cowl under the molding, but you can do it. having help is a big plus. Make sure you have the cowl blocks in place first. I hope that helps! Good luck!
