Topic: 1969 GT wheels

Anybody know for sure if a 69 GT came standard with the argent painted  slotted wheels as on the invoice & marti report nothing about the wheels?  The other 69 GT here invoice & marti says color keyed styled steel wheels & we have photos of the car when new & they are the body color painted slotted GT steel wheel since that was an option. I would assume the chrome slotted (mach1 type) wheel would have been an option on a 69 GT & if nothing on the invoice about the wheels then you would get the silver painted slotted wheel or was there a running change on this since the GT option was dropped .  Anybody know when in 69 the GT option was dropped as i always thought spring of 69 or so?

Argent standard on GT with Chrome optional. Mach 1 with GT suspension package would still have Chrome standard. Supposedly the body color styled steel wheels were not available on GT packaged cars but exceptions have been proven before. It would be interesting to hear what number Kevin could put to total GTs with optional wheels, especially body colored. I have no idea when GT production stopped.

How were the color keyed painted slotted gt wheels with the chrome inserts pressed in ID on the paperwork anybody know?

Here is just an information dump in the hopes that something will be helpful as you go through the research process.

Have 69 GT Marti reports as follows

9F03R14223xx - Real build date of 1/2/69  - No mention of wheels - F70x14 wide over whitewall tires

9T03H12505xx - Real build date of 10/29/68  - No mention of wheels - F70x14 wide over whitewall tires

9T03Q1633xx - Real build date of 1/22/69  - No mention of wheels - F70x14 wide over whitewall tires 

9R03R1165xx - Real build date of 10/25/68  - No mention of wheels - F70x14 wide over whitewall tires 

Very few comments in the option list of wheels.
- One non-Mach or GT ordered with argent style steel wheels.
- A couple of cars ordered with chrome magnums,
- One Mach I ordered with Chrome styled steel wheels

Just what I currently have available
