In this picture, are those rivnuts like the ones used for the outside mirrors? I found the head of a pan head screw under one of the letters, same size as a mirror screw. Probably same screws and rivnuts, just makes sense now, does anyone agree?

From the photo, its a 70 fender. A rectangular side marker light hole at the front and it looks like it had the Mach 1 cladding on it. Note the blackout around the back edge. To me, his question is if the rivnuts are supposed to be there to hold the cladding on.

But that's just my impression.

There's a difference between 69 and 70. And the 70 mirror rivnuts are 10-24, the trim is 8-32. I like a "stable" starting point.
On a sort of positive note, the screw shown is a "clue" to the screw actually used, as the one in the 70 assembly manual is not listed in available documentation.

My id refers to the year i was born, my car is a 1970. Sorry i was unclear. I was refering to the picture of the 1970 mustang fender in the pic having rivnuts. Do they look like rivnuts, kind of a blurry pic. I was hoping a 1970 owner who knows if they are rivnuts. The screw is probably original because i removed the letter and found the remainder of that screw. That screw matches up to my mirror screws, head and thread, im talking original screws. Sorry i talk and type in broken english. Guess i was assuming it was an obvious question for a 70 owner

It was confusing, so now we know.
If you go to the Forum's Library section, you will find Excel Spreadsheets titled Mustang Hardware Spreadsheets 69-70. In that thread there are two files, one by part number "MHW69-70PN04.xlsx" and "MHW69-70AP04.xlsx". The second one sorts hardware by application (AP) where you will find the associated hardware used in "Molding, xxx", part number, type and size included. (The "04" is the revision.) The data is based on the Mustang Assembly Manuals, the 75 MPC, actual observations, and other sources.

(T)he 70 mirror rivnuts are 10-24, the trim is 8-32.

I never looked there before, will try to decipher it, thanks. I found what you were talking about, great resource. Found that it has 2 rivet nuts and 2 screws, the picture looks like possibly 3 sets, which makes sense since theres 3 spots for these attachments on the moldings.
