the + red sleeve near the solenoid end on my battery cable has cracked. the rest of the cable is just fine. where can i obtain the off red sleeve material to repair this?? thanks.

As far as I can tell, you can't. I had the same problem. I replaced the cable. In order to get just the sleeve, the ring lug has to come off and get replaced. Shrink tubing might work, but is too thin.

don't think you can just buy the + cable itself. all i have seen come as a set with the - cable & starter cable. don't need those.

You can. They will send you the cable but charge you the full price.

Maybe give Marti Autoworks a ring and ask if they would sell one separate.  Might also check with Brant at Va Mustang.
