Parking brake cable length.

I need a cable length measurement the brake cable on for a 1967 vehicle. The Inline tube concourse version is 83 3/8". I believe them to be slightly short.

Front? or Rear Axle? My rear axle ones are now installed & cannot be measured but the front one I can if you need that one.

Although you didn't specify it was for your 67, I know (assume) it is.

Yes, for the 67. The rear cables is what I was interested in.

Approximately 83 1/4 by my measurement from tip of ball in front to the tip at the rear.

Sounds like yours are within tolerance, Keith. What all have you had apart regarding the parking brake? Maybe you have something flipped incorrectly or a wrong part somewhere else. Measure the adjuster rod, J-hook and perhaps show us some images of the front components, under and around the front U-joint area of your driveshaft if you can.

Richard:
I have the assembly manuals and reference pictures. I know the Ford units had the nut on the adjustment rod threaded about half way up. I had to take one of the backing plates off to remove the wheel cylinder to easy-out the bleeder. Be careful about them. The units I bought had metal so soft on the hex heads that they rounded off. I bought the NPD bleeders that are 1/4" so they look factory that Bob Gaines suggested. I will take some pictures.
