Cleaner to Oil cap hose???
« on: September 21, 2010, 01:18:46 PM »
What is the short straight hose used between the Air cleaner and the oil cap on a 68 289?
Maybe heater hose or something.
Not listed in MU or NPD catalog.

Its a rubber hose (not a reinforced heater hose) made for that purpose. Plenty of other cars used the same so you might check donor cars for one

NPD doesnt know, Pep Boys doesn't know.  I couldn't find any 5/8 hose that wasn't heater hose, so I got some and removed the lettering with paint remover, looks pretty good.  If anyone finds the correct stuff, please let me know.  Only need 12", if that.

I ended up with some 5/8 heater hose and removed the lettering with paint thinner.  Looks pretty good.
