Transmission crossmember finish - 66 San Jose

I'm so sorry to ask this but I've searched all over and read a ton of threads, all with different answers at different times. Has there been any definitive answer if the Transmission Crossbar is natural or painted semi gloss black.

I'm fixing and re-doing a ton of miscellaneous things and would love to take car of this while I'm at it.

This is a February 10th 1966 San Jose K-Code car.

I'm so embarrassed ;)

As mentioned the transmission mounting bracket was semi-gloss black.  This is for all plants 65-66 and transmissions before someone asks

Some times the easy/common ones  slip by the group or just have never been asked.

Positive (well sort - just more work)  I found another unrestored thread with dead links I need to fix  ::)

Thanks for the clarification Jeff, I guess now with the transmission crossmember and my GT sway bar needing new black paint, I might as well do the regular engine crossbar and have all three powder coated for durability since I have enough pieces now to do... the shop I use has a pretty darn good match to a "dipped" semi gloss look.

the #2 cross member (tubular one) was done in a glossier finish than the other two.  The transmission cross member and the front sway bar do not IMHO appear to be dipped and are not the same look as the #2. Often the thickness of powder coating looks very different when the part is done but the choice is up to you.

Oh, that's really good to know, I can definitely pick a glossier finish for the engine crossmember. Yeah, I'm doing the best I can with most things and trying to match what was originally done, but I think because I drive the car and constantly jack it up, that a powder coating might be a good durable solution and should be to far off, maybe a little thicker, but better then having a chipped or scuffed up piece because of spray bombing it and it getting slightly dinged...

Haha, sometimes, why, that thing is super sturdy...
