65 fastback courtesy light wiring route
« on: April 03, 2018, 09:34:46 AM »
Does anyone know the route the wiring takes to get to the courtesy light in the passenger quarter panel of a '65 fastback?

There's the tail-light harness that has an outlet of the black/blue wire for a female bullet.  Into that is the harness that goes to the driver's side courtesy light, along with another female bullet.  A third wire plugs into that and routes behind and below the rear window over to the passenger side, ending up in a female bullet.  The passenger side courtesy light harness plugs into that as well as a grounding point.

I recommend that you get a set of Mustang Assembly Manuals for your car's year. You question was answered there.

Would be helpful if you included when and where the car was built as details can and often do vary. ;)

Thanks for everyone's input.  I do have the assembly manuals but I couldn't find this wires route.  I'm sure I just missed it.

Jeff, my car is a Metuchen June 11, 65 build.  Does that change things from the picture you posted?  I know you had said my fuel sending wire actually goes into the interior and thru the trap door into trunk across tank and back outside.

Yes it likely does change but can't confirm since I don't have any pictures of that area for your car's plant and production period

Pulled the pictures and placed them in another thread
