Big thanks for the help!

Can someone confirm a 13-blade fan (not a 10-blade) is correct for 1965-1966 dipped in Semi-gloss black?  The 289 High Performance Mustang fourth edition doesn't make mention of the alternator fan blades.

No its not correct. You have the wrong fan for one thing. That one is for a 70 or later. The one you want has the 13 vanes . Spacer ,fan ,pulley ,lock washer and special thin nut ,not the hardware store variety you have in the video. No washers.

Also, different plants and different timing had the fans either painted or not and same with the pulleys. I would go look at DeadNutsOn's website, they kind of have a library of photos and information showing the different setups depending on timing. In my case with my K-Code from the San Jose plant in February 66, both my pulley and fan were dipped black according to a documented K-Code that was built 2 days after mine, but that's not that normal. Do you research before just painting them...

Morsel,
Someone turned me on to the Deadnutson.com website and that is where I saw the 13-blade alternator fan.  Thanks for providing feedback.

Bob,
I will get the correct nut and fan.  Thank you!

Good eyes gents!
