GT fog light wire routing at radiator support
« on: March 30, 2018, 10:22:46 AM »
I have a '65 Metuchen (June 11 build) GT FastBack.  It only has one hole in the radiator support (passenger side).  The wiring was partially removed when I got the car and I'm trying to figure out the correct wiring route for the fog light wires at the radiator support (using just the one hole).  Anyone seen a factory GT with just one hole in the radiator support?

I've seen a factory GT that had the LH fog lamp wiring routing thru the LH headlamp wiring hole on the fender apron to the lamp. I don't remember the year, it was a 65 or 66, or the plant. I assume that the assembly line worker was a bit off of his "game" on that day, and the wiring guy "fixed" it.

I have not.  This may come down to a factory mistake (if you can support the fact that it came with the package from the factory) and you will be faced with the decision of returning it to how it was apparently built (and everything that brings with it  ::)or as Ford wanted it to be built

Jeff - I have 2 build sheets and the buck tag signifying a factory GT.  At first I was concerned/curious, but after doing some research I have found others who only had one hole.  I hate to drill another hole but rather keep it the way it was.  I just wish I could have seen how the wiring was routed originally.

I may have to go with the routing Jim described.

Thanks guys.

Hopefully you got VINs and maybe pictures of those other examples.

Way too easy to find claims of this or that on the internet so please be careful ;)
