'66 factory a/c installation
« on: March 02, 2018, 09:47:40 PM »
I know it would be easier to do before...but....how difficult would it be to install the lines to the under dash a/c unit after installing the unit to the dash?  I'd like to reinstall the unit to the dash but I'm not ready to attach the lines.

It's possible, but consider that you need 2 wrenches to tighten these, otherwise you'll risk cracking the evaporator core fittings or surrounding area.  Personally, I would leave it off until I was ready to attach the lines to the unit.

The hoses have their natural bend from prior installation.  I was thinking of installing the hoses and not quite tightening them all the way in case they need to be altered a bit to smoothly fit through the firewall and retain their original routing.  I don't know how flexible they'll be if I tighten them all the way down.  Any thoughts?

Regarding the yellow wire with the in line fuse on the a/c harness.......I understand it attaches the ignition switch.  I assume it will be obvious where it attaches when I look?

Got it.....pretty obvious....not the easiest to see, but easy to feel.  Got the power to the a/c unit....

                                                              Thanks.....
