Going to try this in one thread rather than a dozen. If it doesn't work out we'll split topics individually. Will keep track of the reports and findings in this first post so that it is somewhat organized and findings are easier to keep a total of. As always a work in progress.
So the focus is on 1970 features, parts and details that may have found their way into regular car production before the end of the 1969 production year. We've heard claims and have seen evidence that some may have been introduced at specific car assembly plants in the weeks prior to the line being shut down for model year change over.
Please it your reporting a finding include a partial (at least) VIN and if available a real build date so we can organize and hopefully develop a range where the running change took place.
So far I'm aware of the following (what are typically referred to as 70 features) have been found on very, very late 69 production Mustangs, Shelby's and or Boss's. In no particular order. For these pictures the typical 69 version is shown to the left in the pictures and the typical (but found on 69 models) 70 features on the right.
1- Rear marker lights Examples so far - (69 style) 9F22270x (70 style) 9F2226xx - 9F22269x
2- Passenger forward inner fender panel (battery apron) Differences include a change in the panel for the 70 headlight housing and the "hump" for the battery L bracket. 3- Muffler/exhaust system?4- Hood?
5- Bolt-in door glass? 6- Doors Examples so far - (69 Style) really don't need to list all the tens of thousands of these - (70 Style) 9F22270x
