N.S.S. Wire tag
« on: February 18, 2018, 08:27:28 PM »
It doesn't appear that anyone reproduces the Wire Tag for the neutral safety switch? Has anyone tried to make their own or have a scan of an original by any chance?

This one?  If I remember right, has a C5PF marking or something like that.

My tag is green though and the one connector is black, not blue.

Yours looks like a later Ford replacement.  Probably has Motorcraft markings on the switch body.  The plugs should be blue/red, to match the ones on the harness going through the firewall.

Has a fomoco logo on it.  Also got a better picture of the label.

'Ford' on the wire label wouldn't be period-correct.  I still believe it's a later Ford replacement.  Maybe for later years, 67-up.

From what I've seen they are green. Im surprised with the amount of tags that are reproduced this one has been left out.

The example I gave is a low mileage June '65 Dearborn car that has not been restored.

Attaching another pic of a low mileage unrestored '66 Dearborn car.  I don't have the VIN or scheduled date.  Probably can find more.

Guess I would ask if anyone has examples of original cars with a green tag?

I just came across this thread which supports the white tag which could be easily replicated at home. Replacements I've seen are green. Unsure of originals.

4 more... I'm sure Jeff could come up with additional examples.

Could (have been watching) but it appears you have more than enough samples to support the pattern seen.

Doing these at home is fairly easy - still takes a fair amount of time to draw all the fonts (since your stock ones will not normally match) do the graphics and get everything aligned. Then the media you print on can be a challenge depending on the color used.
