Much appreciated Jeff, just to be clear you are saying the tag would follow the yellow flange marking to the PS of the axle??

No I'm suggesting that the two are likely unrelated and likely applied by different workers at the rear end plant distant from one another in that plant. If your going to use the ID paper slip place it where it has been documented many times so that you have at least a reason if someone asks or if someone chooses to copy
