I bought a pair of 2100/4100 idle adjusting screws recently. They were made from brass. The originals are made from steel. I assume the brass will "function" as originals, but are not correct. The steel screws can be plated but the needle points in the idle circuit will not function properly. Is there a recommended source for steel idle adjusting screws?

I thought I could find just about anything but steel Autolite 2100 or 4100 idle adjusting screws are more difficult to find than I gave credit for.
If a person goes to a  donor carb for a source, you could very well be back in the same situation of why you needed them in the first place.
Every thing I've found so far has been brass, as I'm sure you found out already.
Not helpful but I'll keep looking.

Another carburetor parts topic, so posting here instead of in 1967-1968 section.  (please move if more appropriate there).

Acquired a correct C7DF-V Autolite 2100 carburetor for '67 coupe with T/E.  For the carb rebuild, looking for the rubber bowl vent valve that attaches to the vent linkage.

The b/w photo is copied from Mannell book (isn't very good resolution); second photo shows C7DF-V carb without the bowl vent valve attached to the linkage. 

Can the vent valve be sourced from somewhere?  As far as I know, 2100 rebuild kits do not include this rubber vent valve.

I happen to have my MPC open the carburetor section so I looked. The carb in question, C7DF-V, uses parts list Sect95.11V. The top cover of the carburetor use a different part number, C7AX-9524-A, which is only common to another carburetor documented in section 95.11R. A quick cross reference show a full size Ford, 289 2V AT with smog application. In other words, not many applications to chose from. That's the why, I don't known the where or how to get a replacement plug.

Thanks. I assumed a steel part when I ordered, but I'm not surprised. You're right about replating, so a light touchup with steel wool seems to be the solution at this time. It looks like 4100 and 2100 (to what year TBD) carbs used this particular adjusting screw.

Thanks for the MPC info.  C7DF-V carb applications from Mannel (p. C-5) show these 1967 289 2V T/E vehicles with automatic transmission:  full size Ford, Fairlane/Torino, Comet/Cyclone, Mustang, Cougar and Falcon.

Plug looks very similar to the one typically used on 67 up Holley bowls.i held a holley bowl in my hand and compared to picture. It looks close. It may be worth looking into. The Holley rubber plugs are very common .

Those work, but they are the wrong style. The style for 2100 and 4100 is attached. I'll figure out years tomorrow.

Haven't dealt with Holleys much, at least in the recent past.  Is there a known or common Holley parts source I can consult?
