I've discovered that there are no holes in the replacement inner fender underneath the starter relay.  Need to know what size and where to put the two holes for the D clips and the wire routing .  Anyone (Jeff) of have a picture of this area?

I think I may have found a few posts that "had" pictures, but thank you Photobucket.

68 GT J code, Metuchen, convertible.

Thanks,

Dave

Here's a picture with everything removed.  I think you can see the hole locations.

Thanks...even better.    It looks like there's only on D clip under the solenoid?

The original question was for the location of the hole for the clip, 382184-S.  Pictures are nice, but they don't tell a lot, like measurements. This could be answered by someone with a tape measure and a 68 Mustang doing some leg work. A different clip was used on a 67, 352541-S, but probably used the same size hole and location.

The holes would have been stamped at the plant so IMHO  if the hole on my car was off by a 1/4" I wouldn't suggest moving it.  Not like he's making a inner fender panel ;)

A different clip was used on a 67, 352541-S, but probably used the same size hole and location.

Think suggesting exact measurements and using the term "probably" are very consistent :)  Think the PS would be better served with the same plant and year just in case  ::)  JMHO

Thanks Charles.  I thought there were two clips as I see in your photo.  Curious, what's the white strap on the right.   Another curiosity, I do not have the block (not sure what it's called) for the convertible top that I see in your picture to the left of the solenoid.  Is it possible that I never had one, or did it possibly get moved by a PO?

I'm not sure what white strap you're referring to??

The junction block on the lower right is for the power top.  Since this is a '68 Shelby, the block up top by the solenoid is for the ammeter wiring.

I guess the white strap is the junction block for the power top.

Do judges carry tape measures....LOL :P  I think if I get them close, I'll be good to go.

Ah, yeah.  I believe that has to be fixed too, where the center is punched through the stud.

I doubt any judge would know the exact location.  If you can wait until after the weekend, I can put a tape measure on it.
