Color--natural or body color?
« on: August 05, 2017, 02:03:31 PM »
While my door hinges are off the car, I'm going bead blast them.  But when I re-install them on the car, do I leave them in their "natural" (no paint) state, or do they get painted the same color as the door jams?  Thanks, ron

That "grinding noise" you hear when you open the door is from some glass beads lodged in the moving parts (just a hint).
Using a wire brush is better in this case.

Jim:  That occurred to me as I was reaching for my air compressor's "on" switch.  Thanks for the confirmation.  I'm going to segway to a wire brush and a wire wheel.  Ron...

Personally I media blast them while they're a part, then rebuild them. They turn out really nice . ;)
