Saw this and thought I could help (with a 71 unit) researched your posts LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE A 70?????

'70 Boss 302...have a booster issue and do not know if I should be concerned about keeping the original or repalace it with currently available unit....

I would be concerned about a difference on a replacement . You may get lucky and get a similar from your mentioned  "currently available" . And maybe you will not. Better to be safe then sorry IMHO.  Booster Dewey is who many use to rebuild their Bendix boosters. He is known for good turn around.

+1  Sure would not trade it in but would expect that something bought at the parts house would be different and lack other details

I would try and get it repaired as the first option as they aren't complicated. Parts aren't a problem it's just a matter of finding the right person.

One thing to consider when purchasing 1969-70 brake boosters is that the assemblies do not interchange. The push rod is the determining factor. mis-matched boosters and pedals will cause diaphragm failure fairly quickly. It is not uncommon for sellers to identify the assembled boosters incorrectly, or say that they fit 1969 and 1970..

Lollipop shaped end on 1970 boosters.
Closed "J" on 1969 boosters.
